Aquarium of the Pacific Bilingual Community Exhibit Interpreter

A project to connect my community with the Aquarium of the Pacific. Every week, after a two hour educational seminar and independent research, I created a laminated yard sign with informative prompts about the animals that call the Pacific Ocean their home. Each week was a different species to teach my community and instill a sense of wonder, respect, and stewardship for the Pacific Ocean, its inhabitants, and ecosystems. Even though the Aquarium was closed due to the pandemic, I educated my neighborhood and community about the animals.

Saint Bonaventure Tech Support Service and Streaming Media Production Crew

Provided live audio and video coverage of events at St. Bonaventure Church. Part of the teen/adult team that can independently live stream Masses and other Faith Formation activities. Included are: Program composition and live switching or punching in a multi-camera event, image composition and camera operation, audio sound reinforcement equipment and systems. Provided my community the ability to attend functions safely and in the privacy of their own homes during the global pandemic.

Fountain Valley Pony Baseball Youth Assistant Coach and Champions League Big Buddy

Ensured that all activities are fair, positive and enjoyable experiences for all children (regardless of level) involved. Role model for all of the young athletes in the league. Led the players by encouraging the athletes to exhibit sportsmanship at all times while enhancing self esteem, teamwork and community. Trained by PONY rule books. Promoted the best game of baseball.

Provided leadership and was an active role model exemplifying the AYSO culture and philosophies. Trained to be a leader and motivator to guide and welcome incoming new freshman students to their new high school. The MHS mentor program begins by assisting the freshman on their Viking Voyage (orientation day). Mentors immediately begin developing relationships and help them become acclimated to the campus and excited to attend MHS. The goal of the MHS mentor program is to build peer relationships, create a positive culture and climate at our school, and a solid foundation for student success.

Facilitating and umpiring youth baseball games. Controlled the game in a positive, confident, appropriate and enjoyable manner while ensuring the proper equipment and rules of the game are followed. Assisted in emergency procedures including concussion, first aid, and cardiac arrest protocols. Promoted the motto of PONY: Protect Our Nation’s Youth. A role model for all of the young athletes in the league and promote the game of baseball.
