Teachers nominate students who demonstrate proficient effort in academic classes for a special dinner and other students who achieve similar results. (2021/22) 9th + 10th grade Online School: Reached Graduating requirements by end of Grade 11, however I kept doing courses to gain more credits and boost my average. I have accumulated a 95.6% average across all 13 Grade 12 courses I took. (2022-2024) - 11th + 12th grade Shawnigan Round Table: Only a select few (8 students), including myself, were chosen to represent the student body by voicing concerns and suggestions and volunteering as needed. Out of over 120 students, eight were selected based on their academic and school leadership skills and voted on by the grade. (2021/22) 10th grade Junior & Senior Film Arts Awards: I received both the Junior Film Arts Award and the Senior Film Arts Prize at Shawnigan Lake School. These awards recognize the most committed students to the Film Arts Program. As a junior enrolled in the senior class, I was honoured with both awards, showcasing my dedication and abilities in the field. (2021/22) | Headmasters Honour roll list: I was awarded the Head Masters Honour Roll, which is granted to students at Shawnigan Lake who maintain an average of 86% or higher throughout an entire academic year. (2021/22) - 9th + 10th Grade | Rugby AAA provincialn Chamions: Member of the Shawnigan Lake School rugby team that won the Junior AAA Provincial championships. (2021/22) 10th grade 5K Cross Country Island Finals: I have grown up participating in competitive running; as I entered high school, I excelled in the X-country program, earning myself numerous athlete of the week awards at Shawnigan and the opportunity to represent the school in the Island finals for the 5K. (2021/22) 10th grade Senior Rugby's Most Valuable Player: I earned the Most Valuable Player award in rugby through my unwavering determination and skill in the sport. (2022/23) 11th grade | Selected to Attend Service Trip to Costa Rica: I was selected to participate in a service trip to Costa Rica, where we helped remove invasive species affecting local areas. During the trip, we also had the opportunity to visit local village schools, which was fascinating. We played with the students and made a significant impact on their lives. (2023) 11th grade | Duke of Edinburgh Award (Bronze): The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a program that encourages young people to set and achieve personal goals in community service, physical fitness, skills development, and adventurous journeys. (10th grade) Junior Rugby Coach Coached the junior 8th and 9th-grade students and assisted as a coach's assistant on games. (2022/23) - 11th grade | Named as Team Captain: I was honoured with the title of senior boys rugby team captain two years in a row. (2022/24) 11th &12th (current) grade | Food Safe BC I got the Food Safe BC certification to ensure individuals possess the necessary knowledge and skills to handle food safely in BC. (2023) BC Standard First AID BC Standard First Aid is a comprehensive first aid training program offered in British Columbia, covering essential skills and knowledge needed to respond effectively to medical emergencies and injuries. (2022&23) NFFTY: Part of a team that won a category at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY) “48-hour Film-Off” in Seattle, Washington. Over 250 films submitted from across 10+ countries (2019/20) - I was in Grade 9, but this was a relevant achievement. Avalanch Safety 1 I obtained Avalanche Safety 1 (AS1) certification, demonstrating proficiency in essential safety protocols and preparedness measures for navigating avalanche-prone terrain effectively. | Work Experience: Worked part-time since grade 8, accumulating over 2500 hours in various roles such as waiter, dishwasher, painter, Videographer, skate host, landscaper, tennis coach, bike & canoe guide and construction I'm currently working at an online Foreign Exchange start-up, where I learn the intricacies of communication and teamwork as I transition from fraud prevention intern to sales representative.
