I received the highest AP award, AP Honors with Distinction, and all other AP awards in Grade 11. I earned it for taking at least five AP courses, earning no less than three on them, and earning an average of 3.5 on the tests.
Cross Country- Grade 9- Running Competitive 5 Kilometer races.
Track and Field- Grade 9, 10, 11, 12- Practice is everything from conditioning to just fundamentals. I discovered my competitive spirit in this sport by participating in Pole Vaulting. I even serve as a student coach by helping new athletes learn pole vaulting techniques if the coach is unable to teach.
Science and Math Tutor- Grade 12- I discovered a love of teaching from tutoring students who are struggling in STEM subjects. This is the most fulfilling work I have ever done because I can see and hear from students, teachers, and parents that I am making a difference.
Sterile Processing Volunteer- Grade 12- I fulfill orders from the operating room, where I prepare all the supplies for surgery. Additionally, I package sterilized surgical instruments and clean off any bio-burden from any instrument post-surgery.
Intensive Care Unit Hospital Volunteer- Grade 12- helping the department by stocking cabinets and drawers
Football game concession stand volunteer - Grades 9, 10- Simply selling food like chips or hot dogs during the game, especially during halftime.
Women’s Basketball game bookkeeper - Grades 10- Watching the basketball game and marking how many shots each player has taken and their miss/scoring ratio.
Lacrosse Game Announcer- Grades 11- I read the pledge of allegiance prior to the game and introduced all players and referees. I said the name of whoever scored the goal.
Church Fish Fry- Grade 11, 12- Help raise money for the Church by assisting the Knights of Columbus organize a fish fry, I mainly served food and clearing tables.
Blood Drive Assister- Grade 11,12- I tried to get blood donors before the event and ensured that donors got off the bus and walked to the recovery area safely.
Consistently going to the gym- Grade 11,12- I lift heavy weights and occasionally do calisthenics and cardio. Recently I was able to bench press 225 pounds, proving that I am stronger than anyone in my immediate or extended family.
I competed in Regionals- Grade 11 (and hopefully 12)- I tied for first place in my district in pole vaulting and was able to compete in the Regional championship.
I have taken all the AP courses scheduling has allowed- Grade 12- I have taken 11 out of the thirteen AP courses that my school offered and I did not take the others because of scheduling conflicts. More importantly, I have never received less than a four on my AP score.
Chick-fil-A Team Member- Grade 8, 9- I worked in the drive-through taking customers' orders and towards the end of my employment there I was training new employees.
Cracker Barrel Crew Member- Grades 10, 11, 12 -Currently employed, and cross-trained in multiple areas, mainly as a waiter and a To-Go server. I earned the highest par rating (stars on my apron) and recently began training new staff as to-go servers. I have found a love of the service industry and providing "service with a smile".
