I took action to make sure my town is healthier by presenting my plea to our town officials for a higher legal smoking age. I was instrumental in getting a change approved to the Massachusetts tobacco law due to pushing for our town’s Health Department support of Tobacco 21 law. My town supported the Tobacco 21 law which increased the legal age to buy tobacco products in Hopkinton from age 18 to 21. Law was passed in 2018. I primarily work in the summer, I have worked at Regatta point at the Hopkinton State park for 3 years going onto my 4th this year. My role here is Dock Staff/ Camp Councilor, as a dock staff I am in charge of renting people boats at the front desk, moving the boats for the renters, fitting them with lifejackets, and making sure they have a lovely experience on the water and off the water. As a Camp councilor I was in change of managing a group of kids and making sure they are having a great time while also practicing safety skills on and off the water. 9th,10th,11th,12th I also work at the Hopkinton Country Club. My role at the Country Club was to help out with big events making sure everything would run smoothly and I would also help out with the kids club. The kids club is a service the Country Club offers so parents can eat a peaceful dinner. I am in change of watching over the kids and making sure they are staying safe and having fun.11th,12th I also worked at Baxters in the cape.
