This involved lots of physical effort, but I learned the value of hard work. I also learned how to be persistent through multiple days of heat and sore muscles. I practiced how to be safe in the sun and heat by hydrating and seeking shade when we could. Lifeguard: 10th and 11th grade In this job I maintained the safety of over 100+ pool patrons. Through my training, certification, and on the job work, I learned the importance of the job and how my actions and quick thinking can be the difference between life and death. When working as a lifeguard, I must be on alert at all times, as a lapse in judgement can be fatal. Sailing Camp: 10th, 11th, and 12th grade As a team, we led 18 kids per week in beginner, intermediate, and advanced sailing camps. We developed, taught, and adjusted curriculum for each skill group. Some of the skills we taught were knots, sailing terminology, parts of boat, and right-of-way. I also drove the safety boat (as needed) and looked out for 10 sailboats during morning and afternoon sails. All YSN Team | 4 years of High School Football- (3 years at the varsity level, one of the years Captain of football team and 1 year at the freshman level.) 4 years of High School Basketball- (2 years at varsity level, 1 year Captain of basketball team, 1 year at JV level, and 1 year at freshman level.) 4 years of High School Track and Field- (lettering in 3 of the years and Captain of Track team my senior year.) | I volunteered at the Living Word Sanctuary Vacation Bible School. I did this over the past 3 summers. As a volunteer I helped set up the classrooms with tables and chairs. I also set up activities and helped to take them down. This helped the kids learn about God in a fun way. The supervisor during this was Pastor Jon Rishel (1314 Springwood Trace SE, Warren OH 44484, 330-675-91500) I also volunteered to help at football and basketball camps in my community. These camps help younger kids gain interest in the sport and improve their skills. I helped at the youth camps all four years during the summer and winter breaks from school. While volunteering I taught the kids the basics of the sports and helped them learn how to play and the game. I also helped set up drills and instructed them on how to do the drills. The Supervisor for the football camps was our head coach Brian Jones (330)502-7255. The supervisor for the basketball camps were head coach Daniel Bubon (330)719-7214 and assistant coach Danny Stella (330) 880- 1583. | I volunteered at the Living Word Sanctuary Vacation Bible School. Supervisor for this was Kiisha Sanders (330) 647-1544. | Captain of my Football and Basketball Team my senior year. | Graduating in May of 2024 with roughly about a 3.4 GPA after experiencing great loss that a High Schooler should not have to deal with. In the past few years I have suffered extreme loss. I lost my grandfather who helped raise me while my father worked 24-hour shifts at the fire department. One year after losing my grandfather, my mother died after a longtime battle with alcoholism. This was during my sophomore year.
