Community and Global Initiatives trip to Dominican Republic - In 2023 (Gr 11), together with 17 classmates and three teachers from my school, I travelled to the Dominican Republic to help build a house for a community/family in need. I found this trip and my experiences while there to have had a lasting impact. As such, I am again travelling this March (Gr 12) to build another home. I cannot wait!

I also worked for community rec centres as a swim instructor and a camp leader. I enjoy teaching and leading children. I enjoy them and their inquisitive nature, but also I feel I have a lot of skills to share and help them. I am proud of my time spent with these children
See above re: Volunteer - Dominican Republic
While not a student council position, my grade 12 counsellor has asked me to be a Carson Welcome Ambassador – I am often tasked with welcoming new students to my high school and showing them around. Sometimes, they are simply new to the school, other times they are new to the country and the school.
